The whole world is steadily moving towards extensive usage of mobile devices in their daily activities. iPad has particularly gained tremendous traction among most of us – from kids to business owners. Innoppl developed the EHR/EMR app for iPad to be used in the hospitals by doctors, nurses and even the administrative assistants to improve the hospital’s internal processes.
The app has a “mobile interface” to the existing web based EMR system that is already in place. This gives doctors, quick access to the patient information.
This app eliminates the hassles related to taking down notes for each patient by the doctor.
Innoppl’s iOS techies have developed a custom-built voice-to-text converter that clearly records the dictation and translates them into text. One cool feature of this is that when the dialect of the doctor is different from that of a native English speaker, it comes up with multiple “suggestions” of text. This means that the Doctor does not have to repeat anything. Innoppl’s team has engineered an intuitive UI and feature set with the right aesthetic appeal. For instance, using iPad 2’s inbuilt camera, a doctor can take a picture of the patient’s body parts for records or just their face for administrative records. Also this app features a document storage section where one can pull up the X-ray/scan images and other reports from the cloud. The team has designed it in such a way that the data is entirely resident on the database server and “lazy loading” of data is done for improved speed and performance. There are thousands of ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes have been handled in this app.
Our team has architected the app such that the data is handled in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Patient data is very sensitive and hence data and its security are given prime importance. The app`s navigation so intuitive that the users will not require usability training. The finesse in usability was achieved by testing it across various doctors whose feedbacks were continuously integrated into the app development and refinement process.
